"Absentee ballot requests and in-person voting so far are trending toward older, independent voters. About 1 million absentee requests or in-person votes came from those 55 and older. And about 790,000 came from unaffiliated voters. Of the partisans, 370,000 Republicans requested ballots or cast an in-person ballot as did 280,000 Democrats."

(5,172 posts)The parking lot was full and the precinct was jumping, though thanks to the number of machines they had I did not have to wait. I can't imagine ever again waiting until election day to vote. It's so much easier to do it early.

(40,266 posts)Weve never waited to vote but theyll be a steady flow all day. And we always chat with the folks who work the polls catching up on local gossip. My wife and I vote then go get biscuits and gravy and coffee on Main Street. Sometimes its nice being old. I always consider it a national holiday when I can vote against republicans.
