Related: About this forumThe cardiologist from MVH in Dayton OH, who...
... received plasma treatments (with antibodies) in early April for his Covid-19 and who was celebrated for his recovery, recently died from "complications" of his previous infection. He was 57 years old.
The complications were not described in the following news link, but I found an online long-term care newsletter from August that described a recent setback for him and that he then needed lung transplants.

(15,071 posts)... after the plasma treatments and how he later tested negative for infection. Most people around here, including me, obviously didn't get the full story!
Found this GoFundMe page for him that described his lung damage from March/April, so he obviously wasn't fully recovered from the infection!

If you have ever met Dr. Mukul Chandra, you have been welcomed by his warm smile. He is a 19-time marathon runner, community health speaker, and avid selfie-taker. He is a local cardiologist in Dayton, OH known for his ability to make his patients feel comfortable and reassured in stressful times. He has gone out of his way to be an advocate for medical students, patients, and friends. To many across the world, he is a mentor, friend, and hero.
In March 2020, Mukul was infected with COVID-19. As a frontline physician, he was infected early in the pandemics start. During his 8 weeks in the ICU at the Cleveland Clinic, Mukuls lungs endured significant and irreversible damage and he is unable to breathe without significant external support only available in hospitals.
The medical team at the Clinic did not think Mukul would survive his initial battle with COVID-19. In April, he finally tested negative for COVID-19, a miracle. But, Mukuls lungs suffered significant and permanent damage. He spent the next 3 months in a long-term care facility. As it became apparent his lungs would never heal and allow him to leave a hospital as is, he was air-lifted back to the Cleveland Clinic where it was determined he would need a lung transplant...

(15,071 posts)... I wrote the OP, I'm mostly surprised that I never knew he was still suffering after his supposed recovery in April.
This stupid country has far too many Norman Vincent Peale types, focused more on positive-thinking rather than reality imo.
