Happy news!
Back in December 2018, a beautiful, silky and quite feisty kitty named Bear, was adopted from Lake Humane Society. His adopter, Alan, never would have guessed that someday Bear would save his life!
Alan, who lives alone and suffers with numerous health conditions, was not feeling well last week and thought taking a nap would help him to feel better. But Bear would not have it! Bear knew something was wrong and sprang into action; she jumped on his chest, pawed at him, licked his face and finally succeeded in waking him up!
Feeling dizzy and not seeing clearly when he awoke, Alan decided to call 911. EMTs arrived and found that his sugar was over 900! Alan was rushed to the hospital and admitted. Upon talking with his doctor, he explained that had he stayed asleep he would have died! His buddy Bear truly saved his life! Alan is now feeling much better and back at home with his Hero, Bear! Shes been my queen all along!

Alan said that he is truly thankful that Volunteer Kritter, helped bring Bear into his life, he said that she deserves so much of the credit for helping him find this special little girl, his Queen!

(25,420 posts)who would bite his toes every morning to get him up to take his pills, of course the cat would also get fed.
Except there was one other time when my dad put the tea kettle on to boil and fell asleep. I mean the tea kettle was smoking. That cat went in and bit my dad's toes to wake him up and it wasn't feeding time.

(12,952 posts)I too went to nap when I was not feeling well and my sweet Othello woke me up by jumping with all four paws on my chest,he was pawing he did all he could to wake me up.
After realizing Othello was using me as a trampoline, and he kept sniffing my breath. It dawned on me something was very wrong since it was so hard to wake up.
I called 911 . And I got diagnosed with diabeties my sugar readings were in the 500's.but that's after I woke up on the stroke unit.
Cats apparently can detect diabeties. I live alone. Othello is a rescue too. Othello is my heroic little sweetheart and I would do anything for him..well I would do that even if he didn't save my life. Because I adore him.

As for the Cobra poster I had it years ago and over time it got beat up found it on a poster site and ordered it. I have a love for day glo posters. My father who was a total abusive asshole took my poster collection and ripped it up and threw it out . I came home from school and cried because I liked them. I can't replace some of those posters, but I try.

(117,574 posts)I bought a new bookcase that is slightly over 6 feet in height and I thought that my cat, Ruby, would claim that as her new home. I stacked up the plastic bins so she can jump up there and even coaxed her up to the top (she is probably the best jumper of the cats I've had over the past nine years), but she doesn't seem to be interested in being that high. At least I emptied out about four bins--three with books and one with photos and various plaques and awards I received over the year.
I probably need to get on eBay and sell about a dozen of those books since they are in new or very good condition. I don't read printed materials very well anymore as my nearsightedness gets worse. Most of the books were Christmas gifts from my sister and her husband so they really don't know my tastes very well.
Tell Felix that he is looking very handsome.

(224,419 posts)The other one is on the ottoman that sometimes blocks the TV, LOL. Felix likes to get up high and look down on his kingdom, though he's getting a little big for that particular perch. And I'm not helping since I tend to placate him with treats, especially since he goes after my feet and legs if I'm too slow in giving him what he asks for. When I took him to the vet awhile back, I was told that he really needed to lose a pound by his next visit - but the next time he was weighed there, he'd gained a pound.
He used to be able to make it up to the next level:
