Allen County Dems rally for election momentum

LIMA — Area Democrats believe the region’s ready to ride a “Blue Wave” this November.

The Allen County Democrats held an event Thursday night with the theme “Building a Blue Wave,” highlighting issues of concern to all voters while also rallying their longtime supporters at ArtSpace/Lima.

“I think Ohioans, across party lines and across the state, care about public education,” said state Sen. Casey Weinstein, a Summit County Democrat in his first term in the Ohio Senate after three terms in the House. “I think they care about pathways to higher education. I know they care about public libraries. I think they care about clean water being piped into their homes and about having access to affordable healthcare.

“I think they care about strong, safe communities and the infrastructure dollars and investment that it takes to fund strong communities. I think they care about all those things.”
