for Roy Cooper and Deborah Ross. I cannot believe how hard it is! Any advice? thank you
these things should be available for a nominal donation on the candidates' pages in my opinion, but they are not. the NC democratic party referred me to a consolidated campaign office. no luck there... i'm gobsmacked

(29,950 posts)this is NC - we have a real chance to turn around some or most of the damage the republican super majority has wrought in this state, AND go blue for the president again. my greatest fear is not getting out the vote. this does not bode well to my mind, but maybe i'm jumping the gun.

(113,131 posts)The DLC "eggs in one basket" strategy of starving the party in red states (even when those states are demonstrably purple) has starved the party of many resources, including well stocked local campaign offices. You can usually get campaign gear for donations at the candidates' web sites.

(31,869 posts)My first order took over 2 months to complete (tote bag and buttons) and I'm still waiting on a second order of buttons after 4 weeks.
I'd love to have a campaign sign, but I'm afraid the election would be over before it arrived.

They likewise have little comprehension of how to reach voters who live anywhere else but the suburbs. They see NC through the same distorted lens that categorizes all southern states as barely 2 steps removed from reconstruction
I have heard it opined that they would as soon have NC a red state since that makes a more accommodating home the the enormous military infrastructure here.

Often, it is expensive to get the signs, especially for a campaign that does not have much. Offer to help. Say you will pick up signs at a central site and bring them back to a headquarters. Help them find UNION printers for signs if they do not have any. I have done this for local campaigns in the past.
Go to the county Democratic meeting. Get this placed on the agenda. Then, put something in the papers, or other venues, about where sign and bumper stickers are available. Get small donations for them if you can.

(31,521 posts)One of the other things we did was to reimburse local candidates for their purchase of signs, bumper stickers, buttons. If they turned in an invoice, we would give them a set amount of money to help cover the expense. See if your county Democrats do that. That is one of the reasons we had drawdowns, raffles, picnics and all that. The money went to help local candidates.
