McCrory Asks Lawmakers to Move $500,000 From NC Emergency Disaster Fund to His Office to Defend HB2

Governor Pat McCrory has requested lawmakers move $500,000 from North Carolina's Emergency Response and Disaster Relief Fund to the governor's office to be used to defend HB2, his sweeping anti-LGBT law that constitutional experts, federal courts, and the federal government have indicated is illegal and unconstitutional.

"The governor asked for it," Senate Budget Chairman Harry Brown said, WRAL reported, adding that Brown said lawmakers do not know how much defending HB2 will cost the state.

-snip-

McCrory is suing the federal government over HB2 and the feds are suing him back.

might well be an emergency for the narrow minded idiots... after all, the analogy would be holding back the ocean with a fork.

Not the people of NC. This train wreck was written and produced by the Kochs in Kansas, the paid lobbyists in Orlando and inside the Beltway with political axes to grind on the souls of all of us in NC. They created the problem because they thought they saw an easy victim to drive them through the next election.

Guess again fools! You picked on the wrong victim this time!

their endorsements rejected by other Democrats. In addition to this list of so called Democrats, 7 others in the NC House simply did not bother to cast a vote. But the bigots on this list supported HB2 and voted for it:

Rep William D. Brisson, NC-22

Rep Elmer Floyd, NC-43

Rep Charles Graham, NC-47

Rep George Graham, NC-12

Rep Ken Goodman, NC-66

Rep Howard J. Hunter III, NC-5

Rep Larry M. Bell, NC-21

Rep Garland E. Pierce, NC-48

Rep Brad Salmon, NC-51

Rep William O. Richardson, NC-44

Rep Michael H. Wray, NC-27

That's a long list of 'Democrats' all of whom are still holding high status in our Party, most have endorsed primary candidates who accepted their endorsements and who have as yet not said a single critical word about this vote when lauding the excellence of their NC endorsers.

about overbearing regulation and wasteful spending, but now they are the people that sign laws where no problem existed and waste the taxpayers money fighting laws that have no chance of standing up to judicial scrutiny. It's going to take more than a half million for the lawyers to defend his stupid decision to sign the bill into law.
