Elizabeth Warren to headline major fund-raising dinner for N.H. Democrats

US Senator Elizabeth Warren will headline a major fund-raising dinner for Democrats next month in New Hampshire — home of the first-in-the-nation presidential primary.

Warren is scheduled to keynote the New Hampshire Democratic Party’s McIntyre-Shaheen 100 Club dinner on Feb. 22, according to an announcement from the state party.

The event is one of two major fund-raising dinners the party hosts each year. The dinner was first created by supporters of John F. Kennedy ahead of his presidential run in 1960. Since then, every Democratic president or vice president has spoken at the event.

Typically about 1,000 or more of the state’s top activists attend the dinner. This is the type of audience Warren will likely need to woo in the coming year if she runs for president in the New Hampshire primary, which is expected to be scheduled for February 2020.
