Charges refiled in alleged theft of $150,000 from Sherwood Foundation

Prosecutors have refiled charges against two cousins who authorities say improperly spent a donation of roughly $150,000 from Omaha philanthropist Susie Buffett’s Sherwood Foundation.

Officials say Quincey L. Louis and Latron D. Louis didn’t use the money meant for youth YMCA parties and instead invested in a T-shirt printing company they wanted to start.

The case, first filed in April 2015, was dismissed by Douglas County District Judge Peter Bataillon in November of that year. Bataillon said there was no evidence of criminal intent.

Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine said he still thinks there is probable cause a theft occurred.
