Bozeman school board proposes 3 levies for May election

BOZEMAN, Mont. — The Bozeman school board will propose three levies to Gallatin County voters in the upcoming May election.

The Board of Trustees approved the ballot language for the levies this week. Administrators are asking for $240,000 and $250,000 for general fund levies that will go towards the high school and elementary school district.

They’re also going out for a building reserve fund levy renewal for the elementary school district. The proposed levy would amount to $2.3 million each year for six years.

“We’re not asking for an additional $2.3 million; we’re asking for an additional $300,000 compared to what they’ve been paying for in the past. So, that $2 million levy is completely coming off the tax roll, but it’s not going to increase their taxes,” said Lacy Clark, Bozeman School District director of business services.
