Oy, crazy Oregon lady up in Loredo yesterday

Hill county. So its bird season and I was at one of the hunting units yesterday. Hunting for me is hiking with a gun this time of year too much cover and dry conditions. Anyway there was another truck in the parking area and a lady watering her dogs. Oregon plates on the truck. I always talk to other hunters if I can to get information and share stories, etc. I shoulda known better with this lady as she had crazy in her eyes and starts off with how she cant go home because the fires in Oregon. She goes into this rant:
'there are fires everywhere and we are at war. Antifada(sic) is bringing in busloads of arsonists! We are at war! ANTIFADA blah blah blah"
I tried to change the subject to something important since she had a little doggie there and recently I had seen a mountain Lion treed up by the watering hole there. I was gonna show her the pic but I realized she was crazy and wasnt listening to a word I said. So i just wished her a good day and left, muttering under my breath, 'if you are at war at least you should know the name of your "enemy" and maybe you should just go back to Oregon lady before your puppy gets eaten'

NPR has a story the Sheriffs in Oregon are going crazy with these stupid rumors

Oregon has its share of nutjobs these days. I read that Multnomah had some self appointed armed militia stopping traffic on the highways. WTAF? How is this allowed? MT has its own crop of crazy to be sure...maybe we attract them. Damn. Stay safe GusBob.

And the cashier, whom I always chat with when it's not busy, said that a few people had told her during the day that they are here looking for housing because their homes are now gone in Oregon.

Shoot, we're at a point where the tourists are going away, except for the hunters, now we are getting Oregon's crazies who think antifada is a national enemy. Lovely.

He's a customer of ours and he stopped in here at our shop on his way to your part of the world because Oregon, or his part of it anyway, has turned into a war zone. The numbers of out of state license plates in Missoula is NUTS. Homes are being sold sight unseen for insane amounts of money. There aren't any rentals because out of state folks are taking out short term leases to wait for a home to hit the market in their price range. I'm kinda hating it....I'm embarrassed to admit that.

They will. Now that people know they can work remotely...they figure they can come to MT and buy a whole lot more house than they had where they are. I thought it was just me...but when I reach out to neighbors and friends...they’re all saying/noticing the same thing. My husband’s former business partner just sold a lot he owned in Kalispell. He owns a few of them...anyway, when he closed on the lot, the title company rep told him that their company had closed just shy of 1600 properties in the month of August and 1400 of them were to out of state buyers. That’s just one title company in just one corner of MT.

We have been discovered.
