TWO SALINE COUNTY PRECINCTS INACTIVE FOR APRIL ELECTION
The April municipal election is four weeks away, with absentee voting continuing. For voters in at least one Saline County precinct, that may be the best way to cast their ballots.
County Clerk Brittni Burton explains a lack of contests on the ballot has resulted in her office opting to not open the Blackwater and Orearville precincts for voting April 8.
The Orearville R-IV District is forgoing their election as exactly two candidates have filed for two open seats, while voters in the Blackwater precinct will go to Sweet Springs to weigh in on the contested race for the Northwest R-V school board. Burton says her office has informed voters in both precincts of the change.
Absentee voting is available for Saline County voters who register an excuse at the Saline County Clerk’s office during regular business hours. No-excuse absentee voting begins March 25, and will include the morning of Saturday, April 5.
