Strange the pace of precinct reporting

Dist 3 - 243 0f 248 reporting

Dist 5 - 224 of 236 reporting

But Dist 4 - only 106 of 225? How far spread are the precincts there?

The rural districts the percentage is lower

1. It's not like those machines and vote boxes are in the car at 8:01 p.m.

They're heavy, and there's some work to be done tidying up the polling place. Election judges, often retirees who have been working all day, then have to drive rural roads in tricky weather to get these boxes to the clerk's office in the county seat. In my rural county, first reports generally don't come in until about an hour after polls close -- and that's from precincts right there in town.

4. I know that general area. It's definitely semi-rural. And it was snowing, so everyone slows down. nt
