We’ve had more discussions about gender justice with Keith Ellison than any other elected official in the state of Minnesota. Over the past three months, Keith showed up, listened, and went down this powerful path with us. When many people would have retreated, Keith opened up and earned our trust and respect through his brave, vulnerable leadership.
Keith embodies the kind of co-governing relationship we believe in at TakeAction Minnesota and our journey with him will continue.
...The future we believe in and the future we imagine won’t happen if we sit this race out. It won’t happen if we stay silent. We want to have hard conversations like we had with Keith when serious issues come up. We don’t believe anyone in our society is disposable, or that we can dismantle the patriarchy and end gender oppression by terminating people from their positions. That’s got to happen through honest, trusting, and powerful relationships, dialogue, and cultural and systemic change.
..The future we’re fighting for won’t happen if a key statewide office is held by Keith’s opponent—someone who has stood against workers’ rights, reproductive justice, immigrant rights, transgender students, the Affordable Care Act, marriage equality, voting rights, and more.

Keith Ellison's opponent is Doug Wardlow (R). This is a DFL page about Wardlow:

(6,519 posts)The endorsement from Take Action Minnesota is very thoughtful and well written. The DFL page on Ellison's GOP opponent, Doug Wardlow, is frighteningly illuminating:
After Eagan residents rejected Doug’s anti-family views and voted him out of office, Doug found a new home for his far-right legal activism at the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), an anti-LGBTQ hate group. Doug proudly supports the organization’s work to recriminalize homosexuality, oppose hate crime laws, and sterilize transgender individuals. Wardlow himself has gone so far as to say that the Supreme Court recognizing marriage equality was a “totalitarian impulse… not many steps from tyranny.”
Wardlow is extremely hostile to voting rights and has openly claimed he will use his power as Attorney General to help Republicans win elections. In 2012, he claimed “you're not born with the innate right to vote” while defending the restrictive Voter ID constitutional amendment Minnesota voters rejected soundly in 2012. In 2017, Wardlow claimed that, if elected as Attorney General, he would “change the political complexion of the state long term" to favor Minnesota Republicans by aggressively prosecuting "illegal voting." In August of 2018, Wardlow doubled-down on and claimed that, as Attorney General, he’ll use the office to help make a "Minnesota that’s more red."

....to prosecute illegal voting to make Republican candidates win "for decades to come."
(around 2:35).
Keith Ellison (D) doesn’t want to do that. I’m voting for Ellison for MN Attorney General.

I never considered NOT voting for Keith. I think they're putting these ads out there to target the outstate, "afraid of brown people and the big city" folks.

What that refers to:
One woman accused him of pushing her out of his way in 2005 so he could leave.
Another woman accused him of trying to pull her out of bed in 2016 so she would leave.
