Senators hear testimony on way forward for HCMC, a key hospital on the brink of financial collapse

This would be disaster, tons of people would die unnecessarily. State and Federal Magats will fight the sales tax aggressively. We were worried about closures to rural hospitals due to Maga but interruptions at HCMC would be catastrophic.

It only applies to Hennepin County so the out state MAGAts probably won't mind as they all claim they never set foot in "the cities".

Given that HCMC is used by people from all over the state, I do think some state funds should be thrown in to save it.

North Memorial Hospital needs the same kind of help as HCMC, but will it get it?
https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/north-memorial-hospital-needs-same-012837502.html

“ The bulk of it would go to HCMC, that unlike North Memorial, also pays for other federal tools, called a Directed Payment Program (DPP), to help close the Medicaid reimbursement gap. That gap is expected to widen even more in 2027 due to the federal administration reshaping Medicaid, including changing work requirements and eligibility restrictions.”
