And then there is the StarTribune that just decided not to endorse at all. Only reports the candidates stands

Of course, they cannot. They brought several new commentators, including the head editorial writer, who is from other place - Kansas, Ohio? - so, of course, has no knowledge and/or experience to be able to offer a meaningful analysis.

I have no idea the purpose of bringing many more commentators, but the owner (publisher?) has established the equivalent of GoFundMe to raise more money.

Not from me. At around $800 a year subscription, with most of the main stories are syndicated and the Variety section has a high ratio of photos to print I consider my subscription as charity. Supporting local journalism as long as it exists.

(The Sport Section goes straight to the recycling bin.).

Cynic that I am, I assume that the refusal to endorse candidates is an attempt to increase circulation out state. dflprincess Oct 25 #2

I've never relied on a newspaper endorsement to make up my mind, but even so this seems really chickenshit. Of course Glen Taylor is a billionaire, so...

Makes me wonder what else they'll do to pander to the Trumpers. Clearly, printing well reasoned honest, op-eds in an attempt to inform won't happen.

I was not happy when the dropped the Science & Health section from the Sunday paper (more pandering?) and now they've canceled Curt Brown's Minnesota history column.

I can't remember a time I didn't get the paper but I'm starting to wonder if it's worth what they charge for it anymore. It gets thinner every week.
