Former chairman of Bay County Republican Party dies in motorcycle ride for charity

FRANKENLUST TWP, MI A former chairman of the Bay County Republican Party has died during a motorcycle ride for charity.
About 2:50 p.m. on Sunday, May 28, Michigan State Police troopers responded to the fatal crash on Westside Saginaw Road near Delta Road in Bay Countys Frankenlust Township.
They arrived to find driver David A. Scholl, 65, in a ditch after he lost control of his 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Though first responders and bystanders attempted to save Scholl, he succumbed to his wounds at an area hospital.
Scholl was riding his bike as part of the Memorial Day 100-Mile Motorcycle Ride Challenge for the Wounded Warrior Project. He had raised $200 for the endeavor.
