DETROIT - The people have spoken and the Detroit Riverwalk is the top-ranked riverwalk in the entire country. It just won the 2023 USA Today 10 Best Readers Choice Awards contest and its not the first time.
More than three and a half million people stroll up and down the Detroit Riverwalk each year. The riverwalk also won the same contest from USA Today in 2021 and 2022 making it a three-peat for the popular Michigan attraction.

(23,828 posts)1. It's nice, most of the year, but ...
... if I was looking to walk along a river, and maybe have a diverse choice of foods, gimme San Antonio's river walk. Or, in the Detroit area, Wyandotte is a nice walk near the river with plenty of eateries.
It has expanded quite a bit since I worked in that area.

About 10 miles of forested trail overlooking the Manistee River. Beautiful and quiet!
