State projects $9.2 Billion surplus, Dems eye income tax cuts

https://www.mlive.com/politics/2023/01/michigan-projects-92-billion-surplus-possible-income-tax-cut.html

This could trigger a cut in the state income tax rate from 4.25% to 4.05%.

Also, Dems introduced a bill to repeal the state tax on pensions. Tax cutting Dems. Exciting time for Michigan, the Dems have full control and are going to do great things for the middle class.

Any pension tax changes need to apply to all sources of retirement income, not just a limited number MichMan Jan 2023 #1
The income tax cuts would be automatic based on a 2015 law. MichMan Jan 2023 #2
