"This road is all Englered up"!

A friend of mine uses this phrase for a road that crumbling. A reference to John Engler who cut taxes for the rich and ignored our infrastructure for 12 years. Thanks John!

From Ludington to New Buffalo couple months ago. It was awful - potholes, crumbling shoulders. Then, magically, after heading southeast for a ways, it turned into butter smooth asphalt. I realized we had just crossed into Indiana even though there was no sign on this back road.

I've been to France numerous times. You can be out in the middle of nowhere and the two-lane highway is as smooth as glass. So how do the French do it and we can't? It's rather ironic that Detroit is called the Motor City yet we have some of the shittiest roads in the country! Like a third world country!
