Then, two weeks later, the vaccine will be available for everyone over 50.
Currently, frontline workers, certain essential workers and individuals over 65 years old are eligible for the vaccine in Michigan.
This comes after an FDA panel recommended Emergency Use Authorization for the Johnson and Johnson vaccine on Friday, with the FDA authorizing it over the weekend.
A spokesperson for the state says Michigan will receive 82,700 doses of the single-shot vaccination on Wednesday. It will then be distributed to local health departments and hospitals, which will administer the vaccines.

(14,505 posts)for vaccine registration and it said I am not eligible because I am not an essential worker. The website has a list of worker type (police, fire, medical, teacher) and because I checked "other" it said I am not eligible for Covid 19 vaccine. Hope this changes on March 8.

This rollout has been very discombobulated from the start. It's like you're playing a game show trying to get a vaccine that is an absolute necessity.

(23,833 posts)After I posted my last "woe is me" rant, yesterday evening I got a call from my city council president (who I also emailed with a "woe is me" rant). She had gotten my wife and I (both 70+) a spot to get vaccinated. We had to drive about 40 min, but we got the Moderna today. All I feel is relief, almost profound enough for tears. Second shot is scheduled, and I should be more or less immune 2 weeks after that.
I will break open a bottle of Rye Whiskey this evening. Just for a taste.
After we got our shots, my wife got an invitation from one of the other places we registered.
Fingers crossed for you.
