Saline mayor (D) seeking 8th term in re-election bid

SALINE, MI - Saline Mayor Brian Marl announced his bid for re-election Wednesday afternoon.

Marl is seeking his eighth term as mayor. He was elected to the position in 2012 after serving two terms on Saline City Council.

In 2024, Saline residents approved a charter amendment that changed the city’s mayoral term from a two‑year term cycle to a four‑year cycle. If reelected, Marl will become the city’s first four-year term mayor.

“Perhaps more than ever before, now is the time for continuity of leadership. We need a Mayor with a positive, clear, and consistent vision, and a track record of bringing together diverse groups to confront our community’s shared challenges,” Marl said in a statement.
