Harris, Booker to speak ahead of Michigan Democratic Party convention
Former Vice President Kamala Harris and U.S. Sen. Cory Booker are scheduled to speak at an event ahead of the Michigan Democratic Party endorsement convention in Detroit this month.
Harris, who was the Democratic nominee for president in 2024, and Booker, a New Jersey Democrat, will speak at the Michigan Democratic Women's Caucus Legacy Luncheon on April 18 in Detroit, according to a flyer promoting the event.
Their appearance at the luncheon will come hours before a separate Legacy Dinner organized by the party to honor Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear is expected to speak at the Legacy Dinner.
Beshear serves as chairman for the Democratic Governors Association, while Whitmer serves as vice chair for the group. Whitmer is leaving the governor's office at year's end because of constitutional term limits.
