U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton, a moderate Massachusetts Democrat, secured enough delegate support Saturday to appear on the state's primary ballot as he challenges incumbent Sen. Ed Markey in this year's Senate race.

Yet even though Moulton cleared a key hurdle to continue his Senate bid, it was Markey who won the party's endorsement after winning more than 50% of the delegation's support.

"You have a choice, you have to decide what the future looks like and what you're going to demand," Markey said Saturday in front of more than 4,000 delegates.

The Massachusetts primary is Sept. 1.

Markey won nearly 73% of the delegates' support, ...

Just like last time when Kennedy challenged him. He was my Rep and I am a tad pissed at him for giving up his seat.

We still have a Dem but I preferred Kennedy in that seat.

From the link:
“If reelected, Markey would be 80 before his …term would begin.”
He’s too old!!! He’s just 27-days younger than Trump! And they are being generous. “…before his term?” Markey will turn 80 in just SIX WEEKS. He’s too old now.

And I don’t want to hear how “they” say how competent, bright, smart, active, tireless he is. “They” lie!!!!

In the long run he will hurt us.

I don‘t know Markey at all, though I find I‘m in synch with him on most issues. I only know Seth slightly, though I like him plenty on a personal basis. Markey once publicly and unjustly trashed someone I know, and has, to my knowledge (please correct me if you know differently!), never made a public apology.

I’m glad I won’t be asked to make the choice.

Following the 2024 elections, Rep. Moulton told The New York Times he wouldn't want his daughters to get "run over on a playing field by a male or formerly male athlete". He argued that the Democratic Party's refusal to openly debate the issue of transgender athletes in sports contributed to electoral losses.

The Democrat Picking a Fight With His Party Over Transgender Rights

Even as Democrats rebuked Representative Seth Moulton of Massachusetts for saying he didn’t want his daughters “getting run over” by “formerly male” athletes, he defended his remarks.
