AA flight makes emergency landing after experiencing bird strike during takeoff from Boston Logan

An American Airlines flight bound for New York was forced to return to Boston Logan International Airport after experiencing a bird strike during takeoff Sunday.

Airline spokesperson Ross Feinstein told USA Today that the flight, which was carrying 99 passengers and a crew of four, took off at 10:08 a.m. and landed safely 11 minutes later.

WCVB reported that the plane struck a flock of geese during takeoff.

Passenger David Scott tweeted a picture of the plane, which appears to have blood and feathers splattered on the windshield.
