Poll: Clinton up 25 points over Trump in Massachusetts
BOSTON -- Hillary Clinton would top Donald Trump by 25 points in Massachusetts if the presidential election were held today, according to a poll released Tuesday by WBUR and the Mass Inc. Polling Group.
Clinton was the first choice of 52 percent of the voters surveyed between Oct. 13 and 16, while Trump was the initial preference for 27 percent of those polled. Seven percent of respondents said they have not yet decided who to vote for, 6 percent said they would vote for Libertarian Gary Johnson and 3 percent said their vote would go to Green Rainbow Party candidate Jill Stein.
If only Clinton and Trump were on the ballot, 57 percent of respondents said they would choose Clinton and 31 percent would pick Trump, according to the poll of 502 likely voters. Massachusetts voters have long favored the Democratic ticket in presidential elections.
In each election since 1992 the Democratic ticket has won the Bay State by roughly 25 percentage points.
