Atterbeary Leads Democratic Candidates For County Exec: Howard Co. Primary Results

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The 2026 primary election was held Tuesday in Howard County, and several races remain uncalled heading into Wednesday.

The tables below will continue updating in real time as the state releases new vote tallies.

As of 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, Vanessa Atterbeary led the pack of Democratic candidates for the office of county executive with 9.727 votes (57.7%).

For the County Council races, the following candidates were also in the lead at the same time:

District 1 - Kevin Chin, 1,280 votes (43.81%)
District 2 - Jessica Nichols, 1,619 votes (64.71%)
District 3 - Christiana Rigby was declared the winner with 2,754 votes (80.76%)
District 4 - Janssen Evelyn, 2,555 votes (48.86%)
District 5 - Cat Carter, 1,714 votes (76.28%)
