from Maryland Department of Agriculture:

Effective April 27th from MDA- Avian flu is being spread by feces as well, literal chicken manure gets spread on thousands of acres of farm fields and has been since March 1st. No one's thinking that maybe some killdeer, horned larks, bluebirds, gulls, etc. are touching it???
All these dead chickens are going to burned and/or composted.
If you aren't cleaning your feeders- just take them down- these composted chickens are being picked up by raptors and vultures and its spreading.
Directly from release: "WHEREAS Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza has also been detected in the wild bird population in the state"
