November Maine Ballot Measure Seeks $30 Mil. for Trails

Maine voters will decide whether a $30 million bond will be used to maintain, expand and improve recreational trails around the state.

The latest Pan Atlantic Poll shows 51 percent support for the bond, which is the first of its kind in the state.

The Press Herald reports advocates say it’s an historic opportunity and is needed to boost the rural economy and repair damage to trails from storms last winter.

There’s no formal opposition to what’s known as Question 4, which will be on the November ballot.
