before he died my father told me to be sure to remove his ring and st christopher medal "so they don't take it at the funeral home."

The home said it probably fell down the drain when she was being given a shower.

She had lost weight and I worried about them simply falling off or her tossing them out, like she'd done with some other items. Like my birth certificate.

We did the same thing with my Dad's wedding ring, after he started losing weight. Now I wear it, and have my mom's rings in my jewelry box. The engagement ring needs reinforcing so I need to start getting recommendations. After that I might start wearing it, again. They will go to my niece, after I'm gone.
