Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon pleads not guilty, returns to court Nov. 7

HOPKINSVILLE — Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon appeared in a Christian County courtroom Wednesday to answer charges related to alleged drug possession and misconduct.

Redmon entered a not guilty plea in Christian Circuit Court in Hopkinsville, choosing to waive formal arraignment in the case. The case was moved to Hopkinsville because the special judge in the case, John L. Atkins, handles cases in Kentucky’s Third Judicial Circuit, which includes Christian County. The special prosecutor for the case is Zach Greenwell, who represents the Fifth Judicial Circuit that includes Crittenden, Union and Webster counties.

This came after Graves Circuit Judge Tim Stark and Graves Commonwealth’s Attorney David Hargrove both recused themselves from the case, due to conflicts of interest.

Atkins said he set a pre-trial conference for 11 a.m. Nov. 7, again in Hopkinsville.
