We can add one more name to the list of presidential candidates who may compete in the 2020 Iowa caucuses: former Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe. I completed a phone survey on January 14 that was ostensibly neutral, but Im pretty sure it was sponsored by McAuliffe. Ill tell you why below.
The poll began in the ordinary way, with a series of screening and demographic questions:
1. Are you registered to vote in Iowa?
2. Do you work for a media company?
3. Do you work for a political organization?

(187,726 posts)I'm just saying. Frankly he lucked out that the Republicans held a convention to nominate THE COOCH instead of a primary that would probably have gone to Bill Bolling who was a good bet to win the Gov race.
Still Terry did a very good job and trust me when he comes in a room everyone knows it. I was at several events with him and he's pure energy.

(8,230 posts)I am not a fan of the McAuliffe brand of insider DNC politics. I respect what he did as VA governor.
I think the times have moved on and we need a much more aggressively progressive Democratic Party. QED
