Yesterday I joined the neighborhood forum, Nextdoor where a conversation had just begun on the miseries people were going through in Chicago to try to schedule an appointment.
90 year olds are having to get up at 5 in the morning to try to get on a Walgreen's or Mariano's site and cadge a date.
All because trump had not ordered enough vaccine last summer we had to pay the price.
Here's the link to UIC register as a guest (1st have to say you are a patient)
Good luck I'm so relieved I feel I won the lottery.

(18,402 posts)Since I have primary care through a Northwestern Memorial Hospital doctor and maintain a NM Chart account, the hospital emailed weeks ago they would contact me. Id given up hope they would, and also registered many other places, to no avail. But they wrote yesterday and I am going Wednesday morning!
I hope my husband gets his email soon.

(18,402 posts)That will put you automatically on the list. Im not sure if it is also required that you saw that specialist within the past 18 months.
I received my notice on Feb. 8, but my husband had not. We worried he had gotten lost in the system. Bingo, he got the notice saying he was now eligible to schedule his vaccine late yesterday afternoon. I think theyre progressing downward by age through their system (Im 70, he turns 69 next week).

(19,487 posts)It's not just Chicago, believe me. I made an appointment for March 15, and I have to drive 60 miles to get that. I live in a fairly well populated area of New York, so it's not like I'm way out in the boonies somewhere. That's just the way it is right now. Thanks, Drumpf.
