A new gift shop is now available for Diamond Head park visitors at the visitor center. The Department of Land and Natural Resources and Pacific Historic Parks partnered together to open the new Diamond Head Interpretive Kiosk and Gift Shop. The official opening was marked with the untying of the maile lei on Tuesday.
-------
The original soft opening was June 5. The gift shop has already brought in an average income of $1900 per day without any advertising. Some of the items available for purchase are t-shirts, hats and stickers of the iconic profile of Diamond Head. The gift shop is open daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Diamond Head State Monument has been a public park since 1977. It brings in more than 3,000 visitors per day and is known to be one of the most heavily visited landmarks in the state.

Insane to think about the amount of lost and diverted revenue that could have been put to good use in the State Parks of Hawaii.
