Gwinnett Solicitor General Lisamarie Bristol (D) will seek re-election in 2026

We're only two-and-a-half months into 2025 and the 2026 races for Gwinnett County offices is already starting to take shape.

Gwinnett Solicitor General Lisamarie Bristol announced on Monday that she will seek re-election next year. Bristol, a Democrat, was first elected to the office in 2022 and this will be her first re-election bid.

“Gwinnett, I'm running for re-election," Bristol said in a statement. "I'm asking you, the voters, for a second term so that we may continue the work to keep Gwinnett safe–to help people get off the hamster wheel of recidivism, eliminate the procedural hurdles that ripen the conditions for case backlogs, and more efficiently direct resources towards addressing the most serious crimes.

"Together, we can make justice real for everyone. And we can continue to make Gwinnett the safe and thriving community that it is — the premier destination to live, work, play, and visit.”
