Growing faster than almost any other state, Floridas estimated population topped 23.3 million people this year, according to data released Thursday by the U.S. Census Bureau.
The Census Bureau estimated that Florida had 23,372,215 people as of July 1, up from 22,904,868 a year earlier. Floridas increase of 467,347 people was second only to Texas, which gained 562,941.
Also, Floridas 2% growth rate trailed only the District of Columbia, which had a 2.2% rate, according to the Census Bureau. Texas and Utah each had 1.8% growth rates.
The estimated national population increased 1% to 340.11 million.

International visitors: 8.3 million
Domestic visitors: 129.1 million
Canadian visitors: 3.2 million

Is this at least creating opportunities for people whod like to get out of Florida to sell their houses and leave?

(36,954 posts)years I decided against moving there in retirement. The one nice thing I can say the
weather is beautiful in the winter. The traffic gets noticeably worse every year, summers are unbearable,
housing and insurance are too expensive, their politics and crime are so bad people have to live behind a fence.
Oh then there are the hurricanes.

(2,202 posts)Unless population trends reverse, blue states are going to lose enough EV's and Reps that the Blue Wall won't matter anymore. The gop would be able to win the Presidency simply by holding all their current red states and winning the Sunbelt swing states.
