"Anti-riot" bill advances in Florida Senate.

Lots of really bad stuff in this bill including an "affirmative defense" provision that provides immunity for anyone attacking a person engaged in "a riot." This bill would allow Kyle Rittenhouse, James Field, etc. to skate. Cross-posted in GD: https://www.democraticunderground.com/100215321817

And it could very possibly become a law. I love how he started this because of the BLM rallies and it went nowhere, but after the Insurrection he brought it up again , claiming it was so nothing like that would ever happen in Florida. We know his original intent.

it would be ok for a woman going to a Planned Parenthood Clinic to run over protesters blocking her way and causing her distress.

With no fear of any prosecution.

This is going to be one hell of a court case.

Will the pukes carve out an exception

What has become of Florida is really tragic.
The state had, for a few optimistic years, some hope that it would become a solid blue state and turn away from it's racist past.
That ideal has been completely demolished by the Racist Far Right. In fact, arguably, the state has actually attracted far-right lunatics and racists from long-standing Blue states (see: The Villages).
After witnessing the social and economic destruction caused by "electing" a fraud as President, Florida has elevated an idiot racist/doofus as Governor. The state has filled the Florida House & Senate with far-right extremists, and has sent absolute scum to the US House and Senate.
Make no mistake, the right to protest in Florida has been effectively eliminated for any left-of-center groups. We're a fascist state now.

They can pass any law here, try it out, watch appeals float through the stacked state courts, and then see how it fares through the federal appeals process. They are emboldened.
