Gardner cancels Pueblo visit on Friday; no town hall

Colorado Sen. Cory Gardner has cancelled his Friday town hall meeting in Pueblo, saying he will be visiting Puerto Rico this weekend as part of a bipartisan congressional delegation to look at hurricane damage and the recovery efforts.

The Republican senator said he will reschedule his Pueblo event.

According to a statement this morning, Gardner was asked by the White House to take part in the Puerto Rico trip. He is going as part of the Subcommittee on Energy and will be looking at efforts to restore power on the island.

He was scheduled to take part in the Action 22 day-long conference in Pueblo and host a town hall meeting Friday morning. His office announced that meeting on Wednesday, only to cancel it Thursday morning.

He'd rather face a devastated Puerto Rico than face constituents at a town hall? Rhiannon12866 Oct 2017 #1

She refuses to publicize her schedule until after the fact so she can avoid the protesters who have been showing up. Her mentor is Paul Ryan and she supports Trump on most issues. And we used to have Kirsten Gillibrand.

My cousin in Castle Rock used to have Gardner as a rep. She complained about him then, and he hasn't improved.

He's one of the top 10 receivers of NRA contributions and he'll run from being confronted from that every damned day that he takes a breath. His trip to PR is a swerve and a boondoggle and nothing more. He's truly a punk-ass.
