Related: About this forumI'm not seeing any advantages to having a jungle primary. . .
in fact, it seems to give Republicans a chance at offices like the governorship whereas without such a primary they had none. Can someone here say what advantages such a primary bring?
It seems the Republicans are savvy enough to run only 2 candidates, whereas our side plays dangerously with vote-splitting, to what end I can't ascertain.

(3,194 posts)The list of people running for governor is two columns, each about eight inches long. Some names are familiar -Porter, Becerra,
Steyer, Yee, Swalwell (printed before he dropped out). I also recognize Hilton and that ballot grabbing sheriff.
Then we have LivingforGodandCountry DeMott (its his legal name) and Barack D. Obama Shaw, who has chosen not to make a
candidate statement.
I know nothing about the lieutenant governor candidates.
Being one of those nerds who take voting very seriously, it looks like I have a lot of work to do before ballots are mailed next month.
If I find out anything about Barack D.Obama Shaw, Ill post it.

He has no endorsements as of today.

I was not in the state at the time. I have been told that one effect is lower chance of candidates with fringy platforms getting in the General. I haven't researched it myself.
