Related: About this forum'Intense' rainfall is headed toward the Bay Area. Here's when it'll arrive.
https://www.sfgate.com/weather/article/rain-systems-bay-area-holiday-forecast-19990623.phpMultiple storm systems are about to slam the Bay Area and Central Coast, with rain starting at the end of the week, the Bay Area National Weather Service office warns, and will potentially continue through Christmas.
According to the agency, two storm systems are expected to bring light rain to the Bay Area on Saturday and Sunday, mostly impacting the North Bay, much like a previous storm that took hold in late November. But then early next week, a third system will likely bring widespread precipitation along with 35 mph gusts to the wider Bay Area.
Significant rainfall is expected to spread across the region with an intense system Monday and Tuesday, with rain chances continuing into the days after Christmas, the weather service website said.
Meteorologists predict that the North Bay will receive the most rain, with 1 to 3 inches expected in the valleys and 5 inches at high elevations. Meanwhile, coastal areas are expected to receive 1 to 2 inches, and up to 1 inch is forecast in the interior East Bay and South Bay regions. As a result, its possible that creeks, streams and roads will flood, making for hazardous driving conditions.
