https://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/bay-area-traffic-chaos-from-melted-chocolate-19964874.phpThe fire happened around 6:18 a.m. on westbound Interstate 580, near Grant Line Road, Tyler Hahn, a spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol, told SFGATE.
The blaze happened because of a mechanical issue, which first set the trucks brakes on fire. The blaze then spread to the tires and the rest of the truck, Hahn said.
Approximately 30,000 to 40,000 pounds of chocolate were in the trailer, and nearly all of it appeared to melt, he said. A photo posted on CHPs X account shows loads of chocolate oozing out of the truck and onto the road.

(2,105 posts)A railroad tank car at Alaskan Way and Columbia Street had ruptured a hose and more than 1,000 gallons of corn sweetener spilled onto the street. Haglund, ever the promoter of his Acres of Clams Restaurant on Pier 54 across the street, saw an opportunity. He quickly ordered a stack of pancakes and donned a pair of hip boots. When news photographers and reporters arrived at the scene, they found Haglund squatting in a lake of corn sweetener, spooning the syrup onto his breakfast pancakes.

(243 posts)I yelled "Fire" when I fell into the chocolate.
Why did you yell "Fire" when you fell into the chocolate?
Because nobody would come if I yelled "Chocolate"
I ran out of dark chocolate non-pareils yesterday and made a shopping trip just for that (and meaningless stuff like milk, coffee and so on)
I used to get them at Trader Joe's, but they were accused of traces of heavy metals in the dark chocolate and I never saw them there since.
But other stores have damn near identical ones.

Didn't actually happen. It was for a radio ad I wrote to promote live freeway updates, on the radio, way back before smartphone apps and even smartphones. But HAD IT HAPPENED, you would have heard it first on XXX AM.
