Two challengers for one Cathedral City Council member; another is unopposed

Cathedral City voters will be selecting two councilmembers and deciding whether they want a local sales tax increase this November.

The council seats for Districts 1 and 2 are up for election. Mayor Pro Tem Nancy Ross, who represents District 2, is running for re-election unopposed. Businessman Mark Scharaga and retired businessman Michael Hayes are challenging Councilmember Rita Lamb to represent District 1.
