(571 posts)1. So is it ever ok to block traffic in a protest in your mind?

(3,305 posts)3. For something planned, with a permit, sure
Blocking people who are trying to get about their life, get to their job, pick their kid up or drop them off at school, prevent someone from getting to a hospital? No. Never. Not under any circumstances.

(571 posts)4. I see, so as long as the protestors stay in the first amendment zones where everyone can ignore them
I'm just curious. Would you say the same thing about someone like Martin Luther King Jr? He never got permits for his acts of civil disobedience.

Are lawyers required? As I understand it most won't touch a case unless it's worth substantial money.
If those arrested are broke they won't have money to pay everyone.
Better to jail them, fine them, and impound all property used for purposes of protest.
