Unless 2021 records significantly more than 167 deaths/day, it is just normal deaths from a variety of causes.

5. Most covid deaths are from people who

already had multiple comorbidities, percentage wise. In other words, those people were vulnerable to any infection, including covid, flu, pneumonia, hear attack, stroke, etc.

I am more interested in how many additional deaths are occurring from covid versus the normal death rate every year.

we had 211 new cases reported yesterday compared to 238 on Monday.

As of Sunday — the latest day with available data — 2.7% of coronavirus tests were reported positive. Health officials say 5% or lower is the target rate to slow the spread of the virus.

Roughly 55% of adults in North Carolina have received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine and about 52% have been fully vaccinated. State health officials round vaccination numbers to the nearest whole number.
