Arizona
Related: About this forumWe really haven't been out much since the pandemic,,,,
Went from Mesa to Gilbert on the East Valley/SanTan 202 yesterday and back,,,,,
The Freeway looks terrible. Weeds & dead plants & untrimmed trees. I was very surprised.
I firmly believe we should all be doing natural landscaping but that's not what this is,,,, it's been neglected. Are other places around Arizona neglected now?? Is this due to worker/labor shortage?

(5,686 posts)all over.
My husband and I walk almost daily in a beautiful park on the outskirts of Philadelphia (Pennypack Park)- 1600 acres of woodland trails along a creek.
We began to notice tons of trash so, we started taking a bag to pick up trash along the way. And, now everyones doing it!
I think we need to devote more time and $ to cleaning up along all the roads. The municipalities seem to have stopped doing so- possibly due to budget constraints.

(17,903 posts)I'm on them almost every day. I17 by central phx could use some work, but it always does. The biggest change I've noticed over the past 5 years is the growth of the homeless population and the rise of illegal vehicles on our streets.

(8,203 posts)store, somewhere down Greenfield to Elliot and west to I want to say Gilbert (we are in NE Mesa)..along the way I noticed the trees looked dead..a lot of them..hubby said NO, they are just dormant...I'm not so sure about that..
The roads, oh, my..he did a job in Maricopa..(he is retired, but paints houses, now and then)..I just could not get over the traffic..construction..as though, AZ cannot keep up with all the vehicles..I dropped him off, (empty house), he was on the job for 7 days..when I picked him up I took the 60 to I10..OMG..seems it doesn't matter what time of day..some 3, some 4 lanes East and West, bumper to bumper..lots of trucks..the 202 (is a long way round the barn for us - Mcdowell) so, when you get to 202 and 101 heading West,to get to I10..fuggetaboutit!!! I'll wait for them to finish..
My son and DIL in Goodyear, travel I10 East and West everyday..from Goodyear to 67th ave..and back..DIL teaches at 67th, she doesn't drive..and he teaches - his school is just off the new extension 202..on the west side.very new..the growth is amazing on the West side..I10 torn up for lengthy construction of 202 - l10 and 303..ramps galore..
If I want to visit them, I always check road conditions at ADOT..and if Nascar is racing that weekend..etc etc etc..no, I haven't been west for some time..
We have a Dr. appt. today..so will look around to see if trees are dormant LOL..Higley to Baseline to just East of Alma School..I should get a pretty good sampling..
