Ah, Chevy Chase?? CNN special on now....

Lotsa people love him….and I was not one of them. He was never funny to me….JMHO. I always thought the other people around him were funny…..they made him funny, but in my humble opinion, HE WAS NOT FUNNY.

The original troupe worked well as an ensemble like in comedy clubs. The last thing they needed was a prima donna.

On SNL. I remember in junior high kids talking about it. Of course he did "the news", but his imitation of JF was so over-the-top slapstick and it just had an electric vibe at the time. Of course, 'Caddyshack' and then 'National Lampoon's Vacation' put him in the top tier. Temporarily of course. He is insufferable. .........

I never, ever cared for him either.

I'm surprised they're doing a special about him. He doesn't seem to warrant it.

Yep, he has been a jerk. But not all the time. He was sometimes brilliant. He was such a layered character in Community. With all the offensiveness, there was always a wisp of vulnerability. I think it will be worth watching.
