Any Outlander fans?

I only discovered the show just about two years ago. Then became a fan of the books. Follow discussion about the show and books on several forums.

If you'd given up the series --as some have after Seasons 5 and 6--come back to Season 7, particularly the second part which has been airing since late November. The latest episode, which dropped at midnight, is classic Outlander from the early seasons, with knockout performances from Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe as Jamie and Claire.

1. Friend is a fan of the show. She has a fan club over to watch episodes. She's especially hot for one of the leads. So...

a fan show is announced with signing by her favorite lead. They get tickets and go.

Now, she is an opera singer. Good enough at it that she gets paid and travels to Europe, also to sing and get paid.

Back to the fan show. Her friend's video shows her at the signing table next to the star. Then she moves next to the table and begins to sing, "Queen Of The Night' in full operatic voice.

He looks up from the table with a "What da fuck" look on is face.

This broke me up when I first saw it. Maybe her version of a mating call?

has the hots for Sam Heughan, she's not alone. I'm 73 and I think he's a total hunk! After 10 years of crazy fans, he's probably seen his share of weird behavior at signings, but what your friend did sounds hilarious!

2. I admit to liking the show better when it was set in Scotland and then elsewhere in Europe

in Season 2 set in Paris were marvelous.

Living in North Carolina I have particularly enjoyed the pre Revolutionary War back story. The Battle at Kings Mountain, which is told in Diana Gabaldon's ninth book, Go Tell the Bees I am Gone ( and may or may not end up in the final Season 8) is celebrated by a reenactment group on a regular basis that at one time my husband participated in because of a family member who was dedicated to it.

The show has been a real boon to tourism in Scotland because of the beautiful landscape and marvelous castles/ruins. Lots of history, lots of magical settings.
