He was my neighbor after he retired from acting, although he did continue doing a lot of voice work.

SOME IQ CHALLENGED PEOPLE ALERTED THE COAST GUARD ABOUT THE CASTAWAYS
Yes, the U.S. Coast Guard actually received a few letters from the viewing public asking them to look for the uncharted island and rescue these stranded castaways. Guess the laugh track wasn’t enough of a clue that this was a sitcom, not a documentary/reality show.

even on a cord board back in '64..only 2 positions for ship to shore..in Massachusetts..

The filming in the marina was booked in advance of course. It turned out it was the weekend after Kennedy was killed. They had no choice but to film it.

Roy Hinkley is the Professor character’s name BTW.

Jonas Grubb was the Skipper.
