Actually, I still am a practicing f/64 layman and Adams disciple who enjoys an occasional indulgence in soft-focus pictorialism with natural filters like fog, mist, and rain.

However, I have read that Adams predicted and anticipated the development of digital cameras and digital processing. His markups of proof prints for further processing (dodge and burn for example) were extremely labor intensive . I can't help but think that he would love the better qualities of Lightroom, Photoshop, Nik, Topaz, and all the rest of the panoply of digital tools. And Ansel's photography platform on his woodie wagons would have made a bodacious drone operating pad.

And in 50 years looking back on your impressive tools of today we have to wonder what is in our future. Perhaps overwhelmed by AI? Or a continuation of capturing more and more of the real world in all the dimensions.

Have you considered printing some of your photos for postcards? A set of them would make WONDERFUL Christmas gifts! Postcards or greeting cards. Either choice!

And you can just package 6 or 10 of them together in a nice new envelope and add your favorite holiday sticker(s) or a bow, and you’re all set for gift-giving!

Sometimes it just all comes together perfectly.
