One week before Thanksgiving and the lilac is still blooming

Last edited Wed Nov 20, 2024, 11:06 PM - Edit history (1)

More blooms have emerged since I posted the lilac photo on November 11. This is the third time the bush has bloomed this year. My climbing clematis has also started budding again. The high temp today was 64F and there's a thunderstorm passing over the house while I'm typing this post. Strange days, indeed.

first used that simplistic slogan at the 2008 Republican National Convention. Sarah Palin further popularized it and here we are. Ignorance is killing us.

Unfortunately, this is a spring-blooming plant that bloomed a second time in the summer and is now blooming in the fall when it should be leafless and dormant.

There are also some red ones in bud on the east side of the house. I'm going to cut them and see if they will bloom.
