I've been thinking of adding one to my system. The specs are great and the price is right.

so far, I love this camera! I can use all of my old EF and EFS lenses. My only complaint is that it uses a small, low-capacity battery (E17) and the battery meter is nearly useless. I bought an extra with the camera, but after having a battery die while getting a clear shot of a wood thrush, I'll be buying a third and changing them after any long periods of continuous shooting.

I have a bunch of those LP-17 batteries that I bought for my EOS T6s. I use them in my R10 and they don't last very long at all. I use a camera strap that can hold two or three spare batteries in a zippered pocket. Most of my spare batteries are knockoffs that I bought off Amazon. I've never had a problem with them, but we use those after market batteries at our own risk.

Beautiful. I like the framing, I never know how to approach these, how close was the lens to the flower?

About three feet away using a 15-85mm zoom lens at 61mm. I also took a few using a 50mm prime lens at about the same distance, which framing included another flower. Both lenses worked well but this was the best shot of the lot.

Force a macro out of it!

That's where I run into trouble with large flowers. I go for lots of teeny tiny little things that are smaller than a corn kernel so when confronted with a large subject, I find that there are many points from which to take the shot, and then I can't decide. Thank the stars for digital!

Like you, I often go for the tiny details when shooting flowers, large or small. For this one, though, I wanted to present the familiar face of the daylily. They're one of my summertime favorites.

Lilies are a bright spot wherever they appear. I like most flowers so I can't say it's a favorite... only for that reason, though.
